Despite the setback, Daniel Holgado remains confident. The rider, who had been leading the Moto3 World Championship since his victory in Portimão in the first race, was not successful on the Japanese track and now occupies third place in the standings, nine points behind Masiá and three points behind Sasaki. This doesn’t diminish his ambition.
‘Of course it is possible to win. There are six races left, which means there are many challenges on difficult circuits, where experience plays a big role. I will have to mainly stay calm. Always give my best and when I can’t win, try to finish the races,’ Holgado recalled, mentioning the Indian GP, where he ‘finished 18th and was close to reaching fourth place’.
‘I will go back home, try to disconnect a bit, train and prepare for the upcoming races, which will be tough, because both in Indonesia and Thailand, the heat is incredible. I will have to prepare myself very well in terms of cardio to be able to maintain a strong pace,’ concluded Daniel Holgado, as quoted by the AS newspaper.
