Jorge Martín is now back in the role he started this Indonesian GP with, as the main pursuer of the leader, and hopes that being in that “skin” can somehow put Francesco Bagnaia on alert. The Spaniard also admitted to being surprised by the opponent’s recovery in the race.
To journalists, Martín admitted he didn’t know the #1 was so well placed when he fell: ‘When I fell, I didn’t know he was already in third, I was just trying to do my race and I’m surprised by his recovery but we know that Pecco is stronger on Sundays and did an incredible job’.
Confronted later with his own words, where he had said that it was worse for the leader to know he was being pursued, he recalled: ‘I am again the one in pursuit and I hope he [the leader] gets a little scared of who is in pursuit’.
