Brad Binder was one of the protagonists of Sunday’s race, but not for the best reasons. We have already reported here that the South African rider took full responsibility for the collision with Miguel Oliveira, stating, however, that he could do nothing to avoid Luca Marini.
The #33 Red Bull KTM rider also said in the debrief that the situation could have been much worse, reinforcing that he was confident that the brake issue would not happen again – as he had already reported it to the team previously – after completing the Sprint race without any problems:
– At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter what happens because you have the responsibility not to hit anyone on track. We are not here to put others in danger. I had a moment before where my brakes opened, but it hadn’t happened in the race, so I thought the guys had fixed the problem. The reality is that if you have a big shake, they open. What I can say is that I was very lucky because even with the lever stuck to my fingers, I still had some pressure, because if I had nothing, whoever I hit or whatever happened, it would have been at a much higher speed. Unfortunately, things like this can happen, and as I said, I really regret it for them. It is never the intention of any of the riders to cause this to others.
