With the MotoGP caravan moving from Indonesia to Australia, the first problems have just arisen with such an operation, due to delays and logistics issues.
The confirmation was just given, with MotoGP information that there are significant delays that will delay the normal start of operations, contrary to what is usual.
Therefore, in the more usual scenario where teams are already set up by Wednesday, it seems that this will not be the case, with the paddock in Phillip Island not opening at 12pm local time as initially expected, but instead “opening its doors” to teams only on Thursday at 8am local time for MotoGP teams, and an hour later for Moto2 and Moto3 teams.
Even if the remaining teams’ equipment is delivered to the site within the usual time frame, operations can only start after the paddock is opened, although teams can set up their team offices. The usual garages and everything else will only be available during Thursday.
Now we just have to wait for more news and see if this slight delay could cause any major changes in the teams’ operations.
