The Australian MotoGP Grand Prix traditionally takes place in October, and often the weather conditions cause difficulties such as this year – with rain, low temperatures, and wind. The riders are trying to move to an earlier phase of the year, when the weather conditions may be better.
Francesco Bagnaia revealed to the press after the cancellation of the sprint race. The Ducati man believes it would be a better solution, but admitted that it is difficult to make that change of dates:
– We are asking for this, but I think it is difficult to do for some reason. Maybe because of the Formula 1 calendar, I don’t know. But of course, for me, it would be better to change Mandalika and this race to the beginning of the season, because Phillip Island maybe in the summer is much better than with these conditions. Because maybe the wind is the same, but we have sun, the temperature is good. Also today in the warm-up it was impossible to warm up the front brake and we were approaching turn ten on every lap without brakes. The temperature was also too low.
