This MotoGP Sunday came to a sudden end with the weather conditions forcing the Race Direction to cancel the Sprint Race. Massimo Meregalli regretted this situation, which he saw as necessary for safety reasons.
The Yamaha Team Director spoke about the decision to cancel Sunday’s action regarding the Sprint race: ‘We are obviously very disappointed for the fans who came to the circuit on Sunday. However, we knew this was a possibility, which is why we held the race on Saturday’.
This was a decision that he also agreed with: ‘We agree with the decision to cancel the afternoon Sprint. It is the right decision. The conditions were worsening and safety should be the priority. We hope the weather improves in Buriram!’.
