Álex Rins will not compete in the MotoGP Thailand GP. The rider had already withdrawn prematurely from the Australian GP last weekend and is not fit for Buriram. However, he will not be replaced by LCR Honda.
According to the team, the Spaniard traveled straight to Madrid, where medical exams on his right leg showed the presence of a small hernia around the fibula that is still healing. This may have been the cause of the pain he felt. On Thursday, Rins will undergo a minor surgery to improve the healing process.
So far, Iker Lecuona and Stefan Bradl have been the substitutes for injured riders at LCR Honda and Repsol Honda in 2023. However, both are unavailable for Thailand and due to the lack of time, LCR Honda has decided not to replace Rins in Buriram.
