Winner of last year’s GP in Thailand, Miguel Oliveira admitted the good memories with which he approaches this MotoGP weekend in Chang, although he warns that the track is not the most suitable for the Aprilia. The Portuguese also spoke about the weather forecasts that indicate a probability of rain over the three days of competition.
Reflecting on the upcoming weekend, the CryptoDATA RNF MotoGP rider began by recalling: ‘The track is not bad at all. I have good memories, the track itself was not particularly relevant. Last year’s result was very peculiar, and if it is the same, I hope we can repeat it. But honestly, looking at last year’s performance with the bike, it seems that it is not the easiest track for our bike. We will try, with the experience the guys have from last year, to have the best weekend this weekend’.
Asked about having more time on the bike in wet conditions during the last GP, and if that helped him feel better, the Portuguese rider replied: ‘In those ten minutes I didn’t feel very good. It was very cold but, anyway, it was a strange Warm Up, but after what I did in Motegi, I don’t expect to have many sensations with the bike in the wet but we’ll see. Every time you ride in the wet it’s a different experience, sometimes even on every lap, and you can’t say for sure what the result will be’.
Miguel Oliveira, remember, won last year in Thailand – then with KTM – after beating the Ducati Lenovo duo, with Jack Miller finishing second and Pecco Bagnaia third.
