Brad Binder is seen as one of the main title contenders for 2024 and he himself knows what he can do and that he has the potential to be better. For now, his focus is on improving in Sunday races, while waiting to find out where he stands in relation to the competition in terms of competitiveness.
Here are the thoughts of the rider before the action begins: ‘There’s not much to say about the first day, but I’m really looking forward to starting again. The test went well. It’s always good to do laps and feel the improvements, but now it’s time to race and that’s why we’re here’.
Questioned about what it takes to be ‘truly competitive’ nowadays, the pilot replied: ‘If you look at my last season, I need to finish my Sunday races. I did very well in the Sprint races, but then I fell in the Sunday races, it wasn’t ideal for points, the rest was pretty good and I can’t complain. We need to see where we stand compared to other constructors to have a clear idea of where we have improved and where we need to work, but we have solved some of the problems we had last season and I feel a little more confident in areas where we were weak, which is already a step. The only question mark is our position among the others’.
The Red Bull KTM Factory Racing pilot continued his analysis: ‘I am ready to give my best and whether that means winning races or fighting for whatever it is, that’s what I want to do. I know I am capable of doing it and I hope we have the complete package ready to do it. I think we are starting here with what he finished the test, so most of the work is done. Of course, this is an endless project, there are always new things in development and on the way,’ ending with a reflection: ‘Where we were in the test was not bad at all. I am missing a little bit, for sure, but I hope to make up for it’.
