Marc Márquez, one of the biggest stars of MotoGP, does not hide his admiration for young talent David Alonso. In a sport where competition is intense and each rider is focused on their own career, it is rare to see an established rider express such appreciation for a newcomer.
“I watched Alonso’s performance and couldn’t help but applaud him. He has shown impressive skill and determination since entering the world stage,” Márquez said in an interview with AS. He recalled Alonso’s early days on the circuit, “I remember when he was just a rookie, seeking me out for advice. He has always been humble, wanting to learn and improve. That’s something I really value in him.”
With 205 points, Alonso is tied with Holgado, while Sasaki, with 213 points, holds the second position. Masiá, with his vast experience, leads with 230 points.
However, Márquez believes in Alonso’s potential. “He needs to trust himself and believe he can reach the top. Of course, there are drivers like Masiá, who have much more experience and are seen as favorites. But Alonso has something special. This is his rookie year, and he is already making a name for himself. I sincerely wish him all the success.”
Alonso’s journey in MotoGP is just beginning, but with the support and praise of drivers like Márquez, the future looks promising for the young rider.
