Last weekend, Buriram was the stage for a great Sunday of battles for victory in Thailand, where Jorge Martin managed to beat Brad Binder and Pecco Bagnaia. Gigi Dall’Igna spoke about the last day of competition, considering it a ‘superb race’, while at the same time the Ducati rider gave his all.
On LinkedIn, the General Manager of Ducati Corse at Ducati Motor Holding began by recalling the Sunday: ‘A superb race that honors and represents well this fiercely contested end of the season, as exciting and uncertain as never seen in recent years. A podium limited to just 3 tenths of a second says it all about a GP lived to the last meter with fierce duels in every lap’.
Bagnaia ended up being promoted to second place after Binder touched the green part of the track on the last lap, and was then demoted one position. It is the opinion of the Ducati team leader that his rider tried his best until the end:
– Pecco started well and tried to manage a race that was immediately fought and demanded his return without space for any calculations and strategies. His race was exceptional and he was truly splendid, recovering many positions until he could challenge for the lead with an overtaking attempt that, if successful, would have gone down in history as a true masterpiece. Objectively, he gave it his all, was on the edge, and only lacked that extra push in the qualifying races needed to secure him a better position on the grid.
