Hero MotoSports raises the stakes in off-road racing, announcing the signing of Joan Barreda. He has been one of the standout riders in the sport for several years and represented Honda from 2014 to 2023. He joins Portuguese rider Joaquim Rodrigues, Portuguese-German Sebastian Bühler, and Ross Branch from Botswana.
The 2024 Dakar will be Barreda’s first race with Hero MotoSports, but he will make his first public appearance in the team’s colors on November 7th at EICMA 2023 in Milan.
In his career, the Spanish rider has never finished on the Dakar podium – two fifth places have been his best results – but only in his debut in 2011 did he fail to win any stages. He has won events like the Baja Spain, the Andalucia Rally, the Merzouga Rally, and the Pharaohs Rally.
