MotoGP has stable regulations until the end of the 2026 season, but the future is already being prepared. And the shape of that future may be similar to what is currently seen in Formula 1, at least according to Pit Beirer.
The KTM’s sports director revealed to the site GPOne.com that the chassis will make the difference between teams in the future, while manufacturers will each have their own engine platform to provide:
– If there are new concessions for well-known manufacturers like KTM now, we will have to carefully consider whether we spend the money on a third team in this category and this sport. MotoGP will develop in the direction of Formula 1. Manufacturers will have an engine platform like in Formula 1. Teams will then differentiate themselves with a different chassis. The power units will remain the same.
