Jack Miller arrived at Red Bull KTM in MotoGP this season after several years with Ducati. At a time when the Austrian manufacturer has five riders under its wing and only four spots, there are rumors about the Australian’s continuity. The international press reported in recent days that his salary could be increased to only have ten wildcard entries in 2024, so that Pedro Acosta can move up to MotoGP.
In an interview with the site Motosan.es, Miller was asked about the “threats” that Acosta and Marc Márquez may pose to his bike. In response, #43 admitted that he could lose his spot… but only in 2025: ‘The door is open and I won’t be the one trying to close it. Of course, losing my spot to one of these two riders is a possibility. If I’m not as good as KTM expects me to be, I won’t be here in 2025, that’s the law of sport‘.
According to Miller, the current contract does allow for the possibility of extending until 2026: ‘I have an option for the 2025 and 2026 seasons. It depends on me doing a good job and keeping my place. I spent five seasons at Ducati with one-year contracts that I had to extend each time. I’m used to this kind of situations, they don’t bother me anymore‘.
