Marc Márquez is ready to give his best in this final sprint with Honda’s colors but admits that especially in Sepang for now, and in the next round, he expects difficulties mainly due to his riding style. The Spaniard emphasized his desire to perform well before saying goodbye to Honda.
In his preview of the race in Sepang, Márquez did not seem very confident and admitted to expecting some difficulties and explained why he thinks this way: ‘Expectations are low [laughs]. No, they are the same as the last races. In the last races, we started by understanding where we were on Friday but we can imagine, especially here and in Qatar, are circuits where I have particularly more difficulties, not only the bike but myself due to my riding style, and that’s why I have to be focused, push and understand how to ride to be in the best shape and then comes Valencia, which is a better track for how I ride’.
Starting the final races with the Repsol Honda Team, #93 ensured that he will try to give his best, both as a way of thanking Honda for the years he spent with the team, full of titles, as well as the need to prepare for 2024:
– The good thing is that I feel good on the bike and I try to be in the best way and I will do it again in these last rounds because it is the best way to say goodbye to Honda and my team. Even in Buriram I had good races, the Sprint and the long one, but I finished closer but still far. I will continue to push, because it is the best way to prepare for the next season.
