Ivo Lopes’ debut in the FIM CEV Moto2 races is officially complete, with the Portuguese rider finishing in 11th place. After qualifying in 15th, Lopes managed to overtake some competitors in the race, gaining four positions from his starting grid spot. Senna Agius won the race.
Lopes had a strong race and gained two positions on the first lap (from 15th to 13th), then crossed the finish line in 12th on the following lap.
Setting a fast pace, the rider on the Boscoscuro machine did not settle there, launching an attack and moving up to 11th by the third lap. He held steady for two laps before conceding a position on the fifth lap, but quickly regained 11th place.
Until the end, the EasyRace #75 did not give up the position and was unlucky in the attempt to secure a better placement, finishing the remaining 13 laps in 11th.
The top ten finished just 0.030s apart, with Mattia Rato outperforming the Portuguese rider who still left a beautiful impression in this first race and showed a glimpse of his potential in a new category, where everything was new.
