In recent weeks, several pilots have been pointed out as possible replacements for Marc Márquez at Repsol Honda. One of them was Luca Marini, who even met with team director, Alberto Puig.
However, the future of the Italian involves staying with the Mooney VR46 Racing Team. And in statements to the site Crash.net, the Italian spoke about the conversations he had with Honda:
– The situation is complicated. Everything happened very late considering Marc’s announcement of his departure in October. I am very pleased to be considered by Alberto Puig, it means that I am working well and demonstrating my potential. It is my dream, my goal, to go to a factory team and try to develop the bike to lead it to victory. But it has to be the right situation and at the moment, having a contract, it’s complicated.
