Dani Pedrosa completed his second wildcard of the MotoGP season at the San Marino GP. After catching the eye in the Spanish GP back in April, he once again performed well… crossing the finish line in fourth place.
The Red Bull KTM test rider was even in the fight for the podium until the final laps, but he didn’t have the pace to threaten Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) – the third-placed rider.
In any case, Pedrosa achieved an unusual result for wildcard riders – who often participate with the main purpose of testing new components on the bikes in a competitive environment.
Since the Valencia GP in 2018, no wildcard rider had achieved such a good result. At that time, just like Pedrosa yesterday in Misano, Michele Pirro finished fourth – aboard a Ducati.
