Prepared but expecting difficulties in Qatar. This is how Marc Márquez anticipates the Qatar GP, on a track where his style of riding is far from favored.
The Spanish rider began by anticipating that he will have problems:
– This year I hope the weekend here will be very different and very similar to the last GP, unfortunately for us. Last year was a good weekend for both Repsol Honda riders, but this year I believe it will be a bit more difficult, not only for the bike: it’s one of those circuits where I struggle due to my style of riding. I will have to work hard during the weekend with my riding style, as well as naturally with the bike, but I will have to focus more on my riding style and try to make the best of the situation.
And he explained them afterwards: ‘There are no strong braking points, stop-and-go points, and all those points have some incline, long curves and my strong point is in a “V” style: go super fast, stop and go, pick up the bike very quickly and go, and on this circuit we don’t have this type of curves. There are basically two or three left curves where you can make a difference and all the others are on the right side’.
