Jaume Masiá became the Moto3 world champion last Sunday, but did not escape controversy. In the Qatar GP race, he displayed very aggressive riding several times in the battle against his main rival, Ayumu Sasaki (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP), and also had the help of his teammate at Leopard Racing, Adrián Fernández.
Sasaki and his team strongly criticized Masiá, but they were not the only ones. Former rider Mick Doohan also commented on the situation, responding to a post by Sasaki on Instagram:
– I am shocked, there was no penalty for the winner’s riding standards, and the team. Races should be tough, but fair, the winner did not win by talent, he knew he did not have your talent. Sensational riding, Sasaki, you gave it your all.
