The Milan Show (EICMA) also marks the public debut of the 2024 CRF1100L Africa Twin and its Adventure Sports variant, which feature a series of performance and practical updates for this year.
Both models see a 7% increase in maximum torque – which appears 750 rpm earlier in the rev range – thanks to changes in compression ratio, valve timing, intake openings, and ECU programming. Revisions to the dual-clutch transmission (the famous DCT) allow for quicker downshifts to match the new engine performance, along with improved corner detection and a more natural feel during initial startup and between first and second gears.
The functional character has been enhanced by the addition of tubeless tires for quick repairs and a larger windscreen with 5 levels of adjustment.
The CRF1100L Africa Twin now offers the ability to adjust the rear spring preload on the move through the 6.5-inch touchscreen.
The on-road driving capabilities of the CRF1100L Africa Twin Adventure Sports are enhanced by a new 19-inch front wheel and wider front tire, as well as increased weather protection due to the wider front fairing and larger windscreen, along with greater comfort from the softer seat.
Yamaha GYTR Ténéré 700 World Raid
The philosophy of Yamaha with GYTR – Genuine Yamaha Technology Racing – is always to take advantage of the research and development work carried out by the official competition teams and use it to create performance parts with the highest specification available for any Yamaha owner. GYTR parts have all been developed through the use of competition bikes, as teams fight for victory at the highest level. And now, following the success of the Yamaha Rally Team, GYTR arrives for the first time in the Adventure segment, with the launch of a dedicated range that includes performance kits for the Ténéré World Raid, with parts also available separately for the standard Ténéré 700. Yamaha Motor Europe P&A, with Yamaha Motor Europe Research & Development, in collaboration with the Ténéré World Rally Team and its riders Pol Tarres and Alessandro Botturi, have worked meticulously to develop this new and exciting range of parts, which result from the development of a two-cylinder adventure bike capable of competing and surpassing lighter 450cc prototypes. This fact was recently proven in the TransAnatolia races, where the development Ténéré World Raid equipped with the complete GYTR kit finished in first and second place in the B2 class.Offering an 8.5% increase in engine performance and a tuned frame to provide true rally potential, GYTR Performance Kits are supplied in three distinct stages that combine to create the ultimate Ténéré World Raid. Developed to unleash the full adventure potential of the Ténéré 700 World Raid’s 689 cc CP2 engine, the GYTR Performance kit uses the original wiring, but adds a lightweight racing exhaust system from Akrapovič built entirely in titanium. Designed to optimize exhaust gas flow, the system works in conjunction with the GYTR air filter kit, consisting of a custom-made box and filter element, and the GYTR ECU, which adjusts ignition and fuel mapping to maximize power and torque. The GYTR performance parts combine to increase performance by up to 9 hp. Along with the engine tuning parts, the kit also includes a rally-spec seat and footrest kit. The GYTR Rally seat, a one-piece unit, replaces the standard two-piece unit. Featuring the GYTR logo, the seat is made of grippy material for maximum control even in the toughest conditions. As standard, the Rally seat raises the seat height by 25 mm, but is designed to allow the rider to cut the foam and create a custom shape to meet their own ergonomic requirements. The Rally seat works in conjunction with the wider GYTR footrest set, which features a highly toothed design for grip and an open pattern to reduce mud buildup in extreme conditions. The final component of the Performance kit is an upgrade of the clutch cover, with an aluminum split cover from the GYTR brand that allows easy access to the internal operation of the clutch for quick maintenance between rally stages. The GYTR Performance kit was developed for easy installation, allowing the wiring, wheels, and ABS system to be retained. Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Royal Enfield, one of the main players in the mid-range motorcycle segment (250 cc – 750 cc), presented the new Himalayan at the EICMA 2023 Milan Show in Italy today. Kove 800X PRO
At stand Q48 of Pavilion 22, KOVE held a press conference that, just like in the 2022 edition, surprised the world of motorcycles with its products and generated great expectations with these three new features, as well as with other sales data. The new version of this 800 cc maxitrail, which reaches 71 kW at 9000 rpm, with a 20-liter fuel tank that allows lowering the center of gravity and facilitates the movements of its handlebar. Furthermore, it uses magnesium and aerospace-grade aluminum in some of its components to reduce weight, which is only 185 kg with fuel. It also improves its off-road capabilities, with long-travel suspensions and a ground clearance of 275 mm. **Voge DSX900X** VOGE presents the definitive version of the model that was presented to us at EICMA 2022.Compared to the model we saw last year at EICMA 2022, we didn’t notice any particular difference. The style is that of the modern Maxi Enduro: elegant lines, pointed front end, and, for the two-cylinder off-road, a 21″ wheel.
A very ambitious project for Voge, to compete with the most iconic European and Japanese models, the equipment must be complete and the engine must be exciting. The DS900X has a 4-stroke twin-cylinder engine, capable of delivering 93.8 hp at 8250 rpm and 95 Nm of torque at 6,250 rpm. The data sheet indicates a maximum speed of 200 km/h.
In addition to a good engine, the DS900X is equipped with a remarkable electronic package: electronic throttle, cruise control, Quickshifter electronic gearbox, ABS, and four riding modes. The suspension has a long travel and is adjustable, so it can also handle rough terrain and more demanding passages. In the front, we find a 21-inch spoked wheel, on which a 90/90 tire is mounted. In the rear, a 150/70 on a 17″ wheel. The new Adventure is geared towards travel and seems to be filled with options. Among the many options are heated seats and grips.
Unfortunately, we still don’t know at what price the DS900X will be sold. If it can position itself well in the market, could it intimidate the most iconic Maxi Enduros?

MV Agusta LXP Orioli
The LXP Orioli, as the name suggests, is a tribute to the legend Edi Orioli, who has always been very close to the company based in Varese and will personally sign each of the 500 units of this first limited edition.
A new three-cylinder with plenty of torque
The engine is the new 3-cylinder 931 cc, developed entirely in Varese. The development was driven by the destiny of a model like the LXP Orioli, which must be both excellent in terms of performance and suitable for very different driving contexts. The new three-cylinder is powerful, rich in torque, versatile in delivery, and particularly light with only 57 kg, an average of 10% less than direct competition. In its standard version, the engine has 124 hp at 10,000 rpm and 102 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm; the specific power is 133 hp/liter and 85% of the torque is available only at 3,000 rpm.
The ultimate word in electronics
The LXP Orioli can rely on a particularly advanced 6-axis inertial platform that interacts with the onboard electronics, consisting of the engine management unit equipped with a high-frequency microprocessor. The Full Ride by Wire is based on torque management strategies; the available maps are Urban, Touring, Off-Road, and Custom All-Terrain, specially developed to ensure correct delivery and ideal electronic control settings in different action contexts. The traction control, which can be turned off, has 5 levels of intervention for road use, 2 developed for off-road use, and a Rain mode to ensure maximum safety even in adverse driving conditions.
In addition to offering great safety in curves, the Curve ABS also includes the RLM (Rear Wheel Lift-Up Mitigation) functionality, and has a unique strategy in its class, as well as others specifically dedicated to off-road use, including the option to completely turn it off or only on the rear wheel.
Maximum technology also for the accelerator control, which, as in the entire range of three cylinders, has negative stroke, important to increase the sensation and to smoothly manage the disengagement of the Cruise Control. The latter can be adjusted to increase or decrease the speed by 1 km/h or 5 km/h at a time. The key management system is completely keyless. In terms of quality and finish, the instrumentation is inspired by the world of luxury cars, thanks to the extensive connectivity options via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, the HD resolution of the 7-inch color TFT panel, and adjustable brightness. Two graphics are available, which can be chosen according to the user’s preference. The MV Ride app, common to the entire range, allows users to connect a smartphone, configure turn-by-turn navigation, save routes and driving data, and share them in the community with other users. Furthermore, thanks to the MV RideApp, users can configure their LXP Orioli via their smartphone, even before starting the engine. The Mobisat anti-theft device with integrated geolocation is part of the standard equipment of the LXP Orioli. Also part of the standard equipment of the LXP Orioli is the front and rear lighting system entirely in LED, which ensures perfect visibility in all lighting conditions. To further enhance the user experience, the handlebar controls are backlit with LED.The LXP Orioli frame is a “perimeter” type frame, made of light alloy due to thickness optimization, with a removable rear frame; the design is a closed double cradle, with stiffness values optimized to offer the ideal balance in different situations, such as touring road use and pure off-road use. The Sachs fork is adjustable in all functions: compression, extension, and spring preload, with a wheel travel of 210 mm; the adjustable Sachs monoshock provides 210 mm of wheel travel and is connected to the suspension through a progressive link. The seat is adjustable in height in two positions (850 mm and 870 mm) to adapt to different contexts and drivers. The shape and material of the upholstery have been developed to ensure comfort and support, both on and off the road. Thanks to advanced manufacturing techniques, the outer covering ensures comfort, durability, and waterproofing in the most extreme driving conditions. The ground clearance is an impressive 230 mm, ideal for facing off-road driving traps. The wheelbase is 1610 mm; the wheel diameter is typical of off-road enduros, with a 21″ front wheel and an 18″ rear wheel. The bike is approved for use with road and Bridgestone tires. The brakes are supplied by Brembo, with Stylema calipers at the front with 320 mm diameter discs and two-piston calipers with 265 mm discs at the rear. The development of aerodynamics has created a calm zone around the rider and passenger that preserves them from uncomfortable turbulence, making the ride even more comfortable. Ergonomics is at the center of the LXP project from the beginning: the contact points (footrests, handlebars, and seat) were designed with the aim of offering all the necessary comfort for long-distance trips for the rider and passenger, even with luggage, and ensuring the off-road effectiveness necessary to control the motorcycle in the most critical situations, where the knees contribute to the perfect vehicle control. Moto Guzzi Stelvio The Stelvio is equipped with the new engine that has just been introduced in the V100 Mandello and has been perfected, an avant-garde engine in terms of design and construction, compact and lightweight. It is a two-cylinder engine, liquid-cooled, with four valves per cylinder. The six-speed gearbox has been updated to be smoother and more flexible in gear changes. The maximum power is 115 hp at 8,700 rpm, while the maximum torque is 105 Nm at 6,750 rpm, with 82% available right from 3,500 and the limiter set at 9,500.The frame features a high-strength steel tubular structure, paired with 19-inch spoked wheels at the front and 17 at the rear, and a long-travel suspension, options that make driving comfortable on trips and fun for light off-road and asphalt driving.
The Stelvio is the first Moto Guzzi available with the PFF Rider Assistance solution. The driver assistance platform is based on radar technology developed by Piaggio Fast Forward, the robotics company based in Boston and founded by the Piaggio Group. These devices play a key role in active safety, providing Following Cruise Control (an advanced cruise control system that uses the front radar to adjust the speed according to the vehicle in front), Forward Collision Warning (detects possible collisions with vehicles and objects in front), Blind Spot Information System (warns the driver of vehicles in the blind spot of the side mirrors) and Lane Change Decision Aid System (detects vehicles approaching laterally, creating a potentially dangerous situation).
The electronic equipment is complemented by the Ride by Wire electronic throttle, the six-axis platform that manages electronic safety controls, such as ABS Cornering).
There are five driving modes: Touring, Rain, Street, Sport, and Off-Road, which manage engine braking interventions, ABS, traction control, and engine mapping. In Off-Road mode, both ABS and traction control can be disabled.
CFMOTO MT-X Concept
The CFMOTO has launched some interesting new models at EICMA 2023, however, one that stands out especially for adventure lovers is the MT-X Concept. Clearly inspired by the growing adventure segment, the CFMOTO MT-X Concept is all about off-road performance mixed with top-of-the-line technology. Since the MT-X Concept is precisely that, a concept, CFMOTO intentionally left a lot of information open regarding its list of specifications. The biggest mystery of all is the engine that will power this robust machine, however, judging by the images, we can deduce that it is probably an iteration of the 800cc engine found in the 800MT, which later uses KTM technology in the LC8c two-cylinder engine. If this is the case, it is likely to produce close to 100 hp, putting it in the same range of bikes as the KTM 890 Adventure and the BMW F 900 GS.As for the details we know, it is clear that CFMOTO is strongly focusing on the brand’s adventure DNA, particularly associated with the MT range. The MT-X concept features a robust fairing inspired by rally models, and an instrument panel that closely resembles the 800MT adventure bike. Additionally, it has a 21-inch front wheel and a very high ground clearance due to increased suspension travel. In terms of technology, the CFMOTO MT-X Concept comes with a full-LED headlight and an eight-inch TFT touch screen inspired by rally bike navigation towers, for a more realistic racing-inspired experience.
Despite all this information, we are left with doubts about what the new CFMOTO MT-X Concept has to offer. What we do know is that the bike seems to perform well off-road. At the press conference, the CFMOTO spokesperson stated that the bike will be “available very soon,” so we will have to wait and see if more details become available.
