Marc Márquez finished his chapter at Repsol Honda before joining Gresini for the 2024 MotoGP season. His new contract is for only one year and he still does not rule out a possible return to the Japanese manufacturer.
The Spanish rider made it clear to the press after the Valencia GP race: ‘I never want to close doors. For that reason, I said in the past in some interviews and I say it again: the relationship with Honda was amazing and we decided to end it because both parties agreed. We have total respect. I don’t want to put the situation in a very critical moment, because I like to have the door open with Honda‘.
After several achievements, Márquez emphasized that Honda will always be special in his career, but admitted that a possible return will not depend solely on him: ‘I say, and perhaps other manufacturers do not like to hear, but this will be the team of my life, of my career. I have won six world titles and several victories, I will not achieve these numbers with another manufacturer. Honda will always be the most special team in my heart. We will see if we can cross our futures again. It will not be a decision only mine‘.
