Jorge Martín was the MotoGP world championship runner-up, fighting for the title with Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) until the final round of the season. However, he will not have the opportunity to leave Pramac Racing and move to Ducati in 2024.
The Spanish rider said during the Valencia GP that if his performance this year was not enough to prove he deserves a factory seat, it will be difficult for him to do so.
In response to these statements, Ducati Corse general manager Gigi Dall’Igna agreed that Martín deserves to be in the factory team – although it is not feasible at this time:
“I agree with him. He did a fantastic job this year and definitely deserves a factory team. But, you know, there are some contracts in place, there are several things that are impossible to change.”
