Honda has released its 12th annual European Environmental Report, which documents the measures it is taking to achieve global carbon neutrality in all products, operations, and business activities by 2050.
This commitment to more sustainable operations goes beyond automobiles and is shaping the technology being developed in Honda’s motorcycle and electric product divisions – as demonstrated by the arrival of the EM1 e:, the brand’s first fully electric two-wheeler model in the region.
It is also influencing all environmental policies, practices, and initiatives at the brand’s facilities in the region, as Honda invests in more sustainable materials and renewable energies, significantly reducing CO2 emissions and energy usage. An example is the fact that it sources 97% of its electricity from renewable sources.
“As we continue to increase our focus on global sustainability activities, it is clear that the European region can play a key role in achieving our goals,” said Katsuhisa Okuda, President and Director of Honda Motor Europe.
“I would like to acknowledge the commitment of all associates, suppliers, and stakeholders of Honda Motor Europe in supporting these efforts over the past year. It is their hard work and dedication that allows us to progress at an increasingly rapid pace towards achieving our environmental and sustainability goals.
The European Environmental Report from Honda also includes an overview of Honda’s overall environmental performance, taken from the brand’s broader Sustainability Report for 2023. This report demonstrates their ongoing global efforts to significantly reduce their emissions, while simultaneously improving recycling processes and the development of renewable energies worldwide.
