Marc Márquez rode precisely a week ago for the first time with the Ducati Desmosedici in MotoGP testing in Valencia. In his first reaction, the rider couldn’t help but smile, immediately indicating that he was pleased with the performance of the bike.
With 49 laps completed, Márquez finished the tests with the fourth fastest time but even led at one point. Regarding feedback, the rider reportedly provided six points, as reported by DAZN.
The rear traction was one of the aspects that the rider liked the most, surprisingly one of the areas where he had more difficulties with the Honda in recent times.
The fact that it is a motorcycle less demanding from a physical point of view is another of the points that will have pleased Márquez, who has said on several occasions that although he is physically recovered – after the various operations and time off the track he was forced to take – he still lacks in that aspect.
Other positive aspects include the Italian bike’s ability to corner, with the Spaniard even suggesting that he anticipated more difficulties than he actually had.
If these points were positive, there are three others that may not have had such a positive note.
Starting off, Márquez spoke about adjustments from an ergonomic point of view, with his position on the bike not being the most comfortable.
The rider also wants to see improvements in terms of front end feel, as well as some concern about how the bike brakes. Specifically, when braking hard he felt the rear of the bike lift.
Regardless of these aspects, the truth is that Márquez managed to leave a strong impression at the helm of the Desmosedici, and from here on out can only improve, and adapt better.
