The 2023 season of MotoGP was negative for Enea Bastianini, who due to injuries missed a large part of the races and found himself unable to fight for the top positions in the championship – this in his first year with Ducati.
At the same time, Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati) was competing for the title, with several rumors that he could replace the Italian in the factory team. This will not happen, and it was not a major concern for Bastianini.
In an interview with Sky Italia MotoGP, #23 highlighted that he is aware of his capabilities, emphasizing that under normal conditions he would have also fought for the title:
– I have to admit that of all things, this was the one that made me suffer the least. I never doubted my abilities, if I am in good shape and enjoying. Jorge had a wonderful championship, but I believe that without the injury I could have also fought for the title. I will try again next year.
