At the end of a season, Sprint races still divide MotoGP riders. Many consider the format to be very demanding and intense, especially with two races at each Grand Prix, while others are in favor.
Fabio Quartararo believes there should be fewer Sprint races – which doesn’t seem likely to happen in 2024. When asked if a potential riders’ union could help bring about changes on this issue, the Monster Energy Yamaha man responded:
– To be honest, I don’t know, but until all the riders sign an agreement, I think it’s hard to say. With 22 riders, it’s normal that not all 22 agree. Maybe 15 do, the others maybe not, or the opposite. And I think until we have something actually signed and done, it’s hard. Maybe some riders like the Sprints, I’m sure, but many don’t. So, what do you want to do with the Sprints? It’s a very difficult situation.
