With the changes that have been approved in recent weeks, Honda, Yamaha, KTM, and Aprilia may have gained a boost to be more consistent in the upcoming season.
With the new regulations, Ducati is in category A of the concessions system and will have less room to improve a bike that has been performing well in recent seasons. On the other side of the fence, for example, KTM will have the option to test with an additional 50 sets of tires and use six wildcards. Throughout 2024, the various predicted situations will be reviewed based on the results.
‘If there are eight Ducati bikes on the grid, with three satellite teams, I don’t see why they need a ninth bike. Now they are playing the martyr’, said KTM’s sporting director, Pit Beirer, in an interview with SPEEDWEEK.com. In the same statements, the executive also took a few jabs at Honda.
‘Honda won a long race this season in 2023, we didn’t. Why don’t we have the right to get new concessions? Honda should have invested more money in bike development, instead of spending it on rider salaries,’ he added.
