One of the stars of the 2023 Moto2 season was Fermín Aldeguer. With last-minute changes in MotoGP triggered by Marc Márquez’s departure from Repsol Honda, he was close to moving up to the premier class next year, but will return to compete in Moto2.
The SpeedUp rider admitted to Moto.it that it was not an easy situation to accept, but he also looks forward to Moto2 with enthusiasm – believing that he can fight for the title and have other opportunities as a result:
– All of this left a bitter taste in my mouth, but ultimately things happen for a reason. Maybe next year will be our year to fight for the title. Being a champion always opens several doors. I was close to moving up, it’s true, and the decision was not mine: it was made by others and it’s hard to accept. But in the end, I’m sure I will enjoy it.
