In a recent interview, Jorge Martín downplayed Enea Bastianini’s victory in the Malaysian MotoGP and its significance in the overall context of the season – after failing to secure the Italian’s spot in the Ducati factory team.
The website GPOne.com confronted Bastianini with the rival’s statements, but the rider refused to make it a topic of conversation by stating: ‘I think the best way to respond is on the track, so I will wait until the new year‘.
Bastianini suffered complicated injuries on more than one occasion throughout the season, spending long periods off the tracks – which hindered his adaptation to the Ducati factory team. However, he ended the year proving that he has the potential to fight for top positions and deserved a second chance in 2024.
