Over the past few years, aerodynamics has been gaining more and more importance in the performance of MotoGP bikes. It’s something that doesn’t please everyone and divides opinions, especially among riders, but the truth is that solutions and concepts continue to emerge – some more radical and unusual than others.
Andrea Dovizioso highlighted to PecinoGP that he doesn’t like the current level of aerodynamics, considering that despite making the bikes safer, it also has a negative impact on direct battles on the track:
– It is a beautiful invention because it allows for greater speed and reduces the space of the pilot. If you see two pilots fighting, with all that aerodynamic load there is no fight and, if there is, it is extreme, and in fact there are more falls. A pilot does not have room to perform the maneuver to overtake, if you brake a little later you do not stop and you risk it, sometimes it goes well and other times it goes wrong. It is true that it makes the motorcycle safer and more stable. I always focus on the fight and reduce it.
