Ayumu Sasaki is one of the current protagonists in the fight for the Moto3 World Championship title and is expected to be close to securing promotion to Moto2… but not with the Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP he currently belongs to.
According to the site SPEEDWEEK.com, team owner Petter Öttl was not able to convince the Japanese rider to stay – as his preference is the Yamaha VR46 Master Camp.
It seems that Sasaki believes he will have better chances in the team managed by VR46 with Yamaha’s support. Intact GP has been in Moto2 for several years and has a high budget, but so far has only achieved two victories. On the other hand, Yamaha may have the rider for their new satellite team in MotoGP in 2025.
