In what turned out to be Repsol Honda’s farewell year, Marc Márquez once again had a less competitive bike. In an attempt to fight for good results, he suffered more than one crash throughout the season and even missed races due to injury on two occasions, taking almost half a season to score points in a main race.
Riders’ manager Carlo Pernat analyzed the Spanish rider’s performance on the GPOne.com website, giving him a score of 6 – although he deserves a higher score for the determination he showed:
– I give him an eight because of that cursed desire of a great champion to do everything to tame the Honda, but this was true for three quarters of the season. Then he realized it was better to gather some data and crash less, from then on he was no longer the true Márquez. I give him a passing grade just for the desire to always go beyond the problems
