Aleix Espargaró has not had an easy life in the past two weeks. After some issues at the Indian GP, the Aprilia rider was forced to end the Sprint early yesterday, due to a mechanical failure on his RS-GP.
Aware of this, but also that mathematically the championship is still open, Espargaró said in the debrief that he just needs to rest with his family to recover for the remaining calendar:
– It has been a very complicated two weeks. I have fought a lot these two weeks, for various reasons, so now I need to go home to recharge my batteries. We still have some chances to fight for the championship lead and I will try.
Still regarding his discouragement and irritation yesterday, #41 stated that it was not just for a single reason, but for everything that has been happening in the past weeks:
– Ce n’était pas seulement hier, il y a eu beaucoup de choses au cours de ces deux semaines. Beaucoup, beaucoup de choses. Mon erreur en qualification avec mon équipe, avec mes mécaniciens, puis l’échec lors de la course en Inde, l’échec d’hier. Je veux juste rentrer chez moi, recharger les batteries avec ma famille et revenir en Indonésie.
