Miguel Oliveira finished the race today at the Japanese GP in a disappointing way, despite maintaining a highly competitive pace and being in fourth place until, inexplicably, he slowed down and ended up going off track. The rider himself stated that this was due to adverse visibility conditions, with water entering his helmet visor.
Now it was Wilco Zeelenberg’s turn to express his frustration with this incident: ‘Round 14 ended with mixed feelings. Miguel had a good pace in the race, but unfortunately it started raining harder and everyone had to deal with a dry visor. The rain was pouring down and water got into his helmet, so he couldn’t see anything for a few laps’.
The Portuguese rider’s retirement was solely and exclusively due to his safety, assured the Team Manager of CryptoDATA RNF MotoGP:
– Pour des raisons de sécurité, il a décidé de se rendre aux stands. Malheureusement, une fois de plus, après qu’il soit entré, la course a été interrompue une demi-tour plus tard en raison des conditions météorologiques.
