Maverick Viñales returned to the podium with a second place in the Indonesian MotoGP Grand Prix, where he was only beaten by Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati). It was the perfect response to a less successful period in the previous two rounds.
The Spanish Aprilia rider said in a press conference that he was pleased with his performance in Mandalika, but stressed that there is still ground to make up against Ducati: ‘We have to be happy. We made a very good recovery after two races in which we were unable to perform well. I basically felt fantastic with the bike all weekend. There are a few things to improve in order to try to get closer to Ducati, because on Saturday I had a tire issue, but also on Sunday I saw that they had a bit more at the end‘.
