Next year, Marc Márquez will ride a Ducati from Gresini in MotoGP. Alberto Vergani sees him as a title contender, especially after his good performance in the November tests in Valencia.
The businessman spoke about the expectations regarding #93 in an interview with GPOne.com: ‘Márquez will give everyone a headache, it will be a movie. What was seen in Valencia speaks louder than words […]. In fact, let’s remember that in Valencia he only had one bike available and couldn’t take any risks. Speaking of Marc, I remember what Danilo [Petrucci] told me after Mugello: “He is relentless, never gives up, and is not afraid of anything”’.
But could Márquez become champion as early as 2024? Vergani believes that is the goal, although the rider is tempering expectations: ‘Surely it is a possibility, in fact I consider him as one of the candidates to win the title. In theory, he is going to Gresini to win the World Championship, not just to make up the numbers or to settle for a few victories’.
