Is Bajaj developing a new electric scooter called Vetor?

Since partnering with KTM in 2007, Bajaj has had remarkable success in the global market with the KTM 390 series and Husqvarna 401 series. Since then, the Indian company has been tasked with developing more models, including an electric scooter platform under the Husqvarna brand called Vektorr. The Husky Vektorr concept first appeared in 2021 but has since virtually disappeared. That said, a recent development could breathe new life into this electric scooter. On the Indian motorcycle website BikeWale, they were able to uncover a trademark application from Bajaj with the name “Vetor.”

According to the record, the trademark was applied for on August 16, 2023 – relatively recent. This raises the question: what exactly is the Bajaj Vector? Well, various sources seem to suggest that it is indeed a new electric scooter. However, whether it is the Husqvarna Vektorr, albeit rebranded by the Bajaj brand, remains a mystery.

At this point, Bajaj already has an electric scooter called Chetak, and has been selling it for some time. The launch of a more premium electric scooter will not only increase the growing selection of two-wheeled electric vehicles on the market, but also elevate Bajaj’s status as a pioneer in the two-wheeled electric vehicle market. It could be argued that the manufacturer has been left behind by new players in the market, such as Ather and Ola Electric, and the launch of a higher-quality electric scooter could certainly change that.
