In recent days, there have been many news pointing to the very likely promotion and move of Fermín Aldeguer to MotoGP, with the colors of Pramac Racing, but the focus of the rider despite all this is currently on the intermediate class championship, where he has a clear goal: to be champion.
Although he does not directly confirm his category change in 2025, the truth is that the Spanish rider who currently races with the colors of SpeedUp Racing also denied it, and stated that he is focused on his more immediate goals, as he explained to SPEEDWEEK.com: ‘Everyone talks about it, but right now I am very focused on the Moto2 season, which is an important year for me. It is always better to reach MotoGP as a world champion’.
So the focus is on the start of the championship, a week from now in Qatar, with Aldeguer talking about the need to manage the tires well for the race, especially the rear one: ‘First of all, we have to start the season well. All the riders are very fast, but it is very easy to look for a quick lap. But then, when it comes to covering the distance of the race, we have to manage the rear tire very well. It is important to have a lot of information for the race’.
It is certain that Pramac Racing will indeed have a vacant seat to fill in 2025, as Jorge Martín has already announced that, whether promoted to the Ducati Lenovo Team or not, he will leave the Italian team to be in a factory team, even admitting that this may happen outside the realm of the Borgo Panigale manufacturer.
