In 2024, Álex Rins begins a new cycle in his MotoGP career, joining Monster Energy Yamaha. Currently, Ducati is the dominant force in the field, but the departing LCR Honda rider believes that his new team has the potential to achieve success.
The newspaper Marca asked the Spanish rider about the fact that MotoGP currently has several strong Ducatis. In his response, Rins acknowledged the strength of the Borgo Panigale manufacturer, but also emphasized his confidence in Yamaha for 2024:
– They have been in many races with several bikes in front. It is true that they have the ability to have eight competitive bikes on the track. They have developed a very fast bike because they have more riders on them than others, but at Yamaha we can also fight to win races and it will surely be different next year.
Regarding his move to Yamaha, #42 stated: ‘Riding a MotoGP bike is usually always the same, only the power, speed… with Fabio Quartararo by my side it will be very interesting, he is a very fast rider and we will form a very strong team. I think it is important to have a team that believes in you and a winning teammate’.
