The plug-in company, formerly known as Super Soco, launched the Stash as a concept in 2023 and says the production machine will be available by the end of April or early May 2024.
It will enter one of the most competitive electric markets in the entire British market, with both new and established manufacturers now offering small capacity options in an attempt to capitalize on environmentally-conscious youth, as well as the increasingly expanding low emission zones in urban areas.
“This heralds a new era for Vmoto, bridging the gap between electric and ICE and providing not only high-quality vehicles but also great value for students,” said Vmoto Soco UK CEO Clive Mann. “2024 will be a year of great momentum for us as a brand in the UK market and worldwide, and this is just the beginning.”
The scooter-style braking is done through both levers on the handlebar. The brakes are linked, with ABS included for additional safety. There are discs all around with a single black and gold caliper mounted radially at the front.
Vmoto claims that the traditional “tank” space in front of the rider’s seat of 830 mm offers enough room for a full-face helmet. Beneath the storage space is a fixed 100Ah, 72V battery, providing 7.2kWh of energy. This must be charged on the bike and powers a front-mounted electric motor on the swingarm, delivering 10.8 hp to the rear wheel via chain drive.
Although this power makes it compatible with the L plate, an additional boost button momentarily takes the bike to an alleged 20.1 hp – increasing the top speed from 110 km/h to a respectable 121 km/h.
