Ivo Lopes’ debut in FIM CEV Moto2 races is officially over, with the Portuguese finishing in 11th place. After qualifying in 15th, Lopes managed to beat some opponents in the race, thus gaining four positions compared to his starting position on the grid. Senna Agius won the race.
Lopes had a race on the rise and already gained two positions on the first lap (from 15th to 13th), and then managed to cross the finish line in 12th on the next lap.
At a strong pace, the rider in charge of Boscoscuro did not want to stop there, launched an attack and by the third lap was already in 11th place. He stabilized for two laps, before giving up a position on the fifth lap, but then quickly regained 11th place.
Until the end, the #75 from EasyRace did not give up his position and was unlucky in trying to secure a better position, thus finishing the remaining 13 laps in 11th.
The top ten was only 0.030s away, with Mattia Rato outperforming the Portuguese who still left a beautiful image in this first race and showed a glimpse of his potential in a new category, where everything was new.
