Fermín Aldeguer was the undisputed protagonist of the Moto2 World Championship season finale. The rider achieved his fourth consecutive victory this Sunday at the Valencia GP, closing the year “with a flourish” to secure third place in the final championship standings.
At the start, Aldeguer (CAG SpeedUp/Boscoscuro) was stronger than Arón Canet (Pons Wegow Los40/Kalex) to take the lead, managing to gain some distance from the competition.
The first lap was marked by a particularly spectacular incident involving Celestino Vietti (Fantic Racing/Kalex), Sergio García (Pons Wegow Los40/Kalex), and Izan Guevara (Inde GasGas Aspar/Kalex).
Behind the top two, Marcos Ramírez (OnlyFans American Racing/Kalex) was in third position. Further down, Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Ajo/Kalex) was struggling, losing positions – nothing important for the championship standings, as he became champion in Malaysia.
In the lead, Aldeguer didn’t give Canet any chances, and with 14 laps to go, he set a new race lap record. Ramírez held on to third place despite the pressure from Jake Dixon (Inde GasGas Aspar/Kalex), who was overtaken by Alonso López (CAG SpeedUp/Boscoscuro) 13 laps from the checkered flag.
#21 didn’t stop there and managed to reach the podium positions by overtaking Ramírez with 11 laps to go. Nothing else changed in the podium positions until the end.
Platz in Valencia.
