Ivo Lopes has already won the Spanish Superbikes championship title and that doesn’t slow him down, as he once again “did his thing” this weekend at the Barcelona circuit, achieving a double victory.
In the first race, the Portuguese rider, who started in second place on the front row of the grid and races with the colors of the BMW EASYRACE Team, beat Steven Odendaal (New2 Project) by almost 12 seconds, with Oscar Gutierrez (Team Honda LaGlisse) taking the last place on the podium.
Tito Rabat (TR53 Racing Team), with many years of experience in MotoGP, was the first to miss out on the top three, finishing fourth, with Roman Ramos (Kawasaki Palmeto PL Racing) in fifth place.
In the second race, Lopes started in first place and dominated from start to finish, thus controlling the events, with Unai Orradre (Team Honda LaGlisse) in second and Odendaal in third, this time.
Gutierrez and Ramos completed the top five.
Once again, this round ended a weekend of competition in Spain, showing that he is a rider of a different caliber.
