Miguel Oliveira completed the Sprint race of the Malaysian MotoGP Grand Prix in Sepang in 18th place. The CryptoDATA RNF MotoGP Team rider barely made any overtakes on the track and only managed to gain one position compared to his starting position on the grid.
After starting in 19th, the Portuguese rider lost a position in the early stages, dropping to 20th. On the second lap, he was overtaken by his teammate Raúl Fernández, falling to 21st. He would regain the position on the fourth lap, swapping places with Marc Márquez (Repsol Honda) after his crash.
One lap later, it was the other Repsol Honda rider, Joan Mir, who suffered a crash, leaving Oliveira in 19th. The recovery continued on the seventh lap, as he overtook Takaaki Nakagami (LCR Honda).
Until the end, the Almada-born rider was not far from his teammate Raúl Fernández ahead of him, but he was unable to overtake his teammate and had to settle for 18th place.
