There are two rounds left in the MotoGP season and Jorge Martín is only 14 points behind Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) in the championship standings. The Prima Pramac rider already knows that he will not finish below the second place he currently occupies, so he will not hesitate to take risks in the Qatar GP this weekend.
The Spanish rider stated in a press conference: ‘Well, I don’t know the exact math, I just know that I need to recover points, so that’s my goal. I’m already second in the championship if I don’t do the next two races. I just need to attack and recover as many points as possible in this round’.
Yesterday, Martín participated in an event with Nasser Al-Attiyah, who admitted that it was good to disconnect from the championship for a while. However, he emphasized his focus and determination to reach the top of the standings: ‘It certainly helps to disconnect a bit. I felt that in Malaysia maybe I was riding a bit too cautiously on Sunday, I felt like I was crashing in every corner and this didn’t help me be fast and smooth. I’m already second, I can only change that position to first, so I will take every risk I can and maybe make some bets to try to do it’.
