The penultimate day of Moto2 testing in Jerez has come to an end and, just like yesterday, Arón Canet set the pace. The times were better, but the official circuit record lap has not been beaten yet, in a year where the riders have new tires provided by Pirelli.
It was in the first session of the day that Canet (Fantic Racing/Kalex) set the fastest time – 1m40.704s. He finished 0.101s ahead of Joe Roberts (OnlyFans American Racing Team/Kalex), while Fermín Aldeguer (Sync SpeedUp/Boscoscuro) finished third, 0.180s behind.
Celestino Vietti (Red Bull KTM Ajo/Kalex) set his best time only in the last session and finished fourth, while Somkiat Chantra (Idemitsu Honda Team Asia/Kalex) was fifth with a time set in the opening session. Ai Ogura (MT Helmets-MSi/Boscoscuro) was the last to run in the 1m40s, with a time that allowed him to lead Thursday’s second session.
