Kevin Zannoni is the new rider for Openbank Aspar in MotoE. He succeeds María Herrera, who has been part of the team since the inaugural season in 2019. The other rider, as we have already reported, continues to be Jordi Torres.
For Herrera, it is the end of a chapter in which she stood out mainly for being the female presence in the pack. As for results, they were never significant: the best she achieved was a fifth place in the second race in San Marino in 2019. It was one of only seven top ten finishes.
As for Zannoni, he already has considerable experience in MotoE, where he arrived in 2021: he made his debut with LCR E-Team and competed in the last two seasons with SIC58 Squadra Corse. His best results were third places in Austria this year, a round in which he also achieved pole position.
Jorge Martínez Aspar, team owner, stated in a press release: ‘We want to welcome Kevin Zannoni to the Openbank Aspar Team. He is a young rider that we have seen grow in the category for several years. This year he achieved his first podiums and in the next season we want to provide him with the best tools to continue with this positive progression and aim for great goals with us’.
