Con the changes that have been approved in recent weeks, Honda, Yamaha, KTM and Aprilia may have gained a “boost” to be more consistent in the upcoming season.
With the new rules, Ducati is in category A of the concessions system and will have less room to improve a bike that has been doing well in recent seasons. On the other side of the barricade is, for example, KTM, which will have the option to test with an additional 50 sets of tires and use six wildcards. Throughout 2024, the various situations provided for will be reviewed based on the results.
‘If there are eight Ducati bikes in the race, with three satellite teams, I don’t see why they need a ninth bike. Now they are playing the martyr,’ said KTM’s sports director, Pit Beirer, in an interview with SPEEDWEEK.com. In the same statements, the executive also took a few jabs at Honda.
‘Honda won a long race this 2023 season, we didn’t. Why don’t we have the right to obtain new concessions? Honda should have invested more money in bike development instead of spending it on rider salaries,’ he added.
The Red Bull KTM Factory Racing duo is made up of Brad Binder and Jack Miller.
