Valentin Debise will compete in the 2024 Supersport World Championship with Evan Bros. Yamaha. This is one of the main teams in the category, particularly highlighted by Andrea Locatelli’s title in 2020.
With 31 years of age, Debise has extensive experience in motorcycling. He has competed in full seasons in the 250cc and Moto2 World Championships, as well as in WSSP and the Superbike World Championship.
This year, the Frenchman had his first full season in WSSP and finished the championship in fifth place, with two podiums. He represented GMT94 Yamaha, so he arrives at Evan Bros. already familiar with the YZF-R6 that he will ride.
The team manager, Fabio Evangelista, commented: ‘During 2023, I had the opportunity to meet Valentin several times and immediately a great feeling was born. At the end of the season, we started talking about a possible collaboration in 2024: an idea that became a goal after the test we did together in Jerez. We are convinced that we can aim for top positions next season, in compatibility with the balance between the various bikes in the field. As a team, we have decided to believe in Yamaha again, just as the factory believes in us, and certainly the fifth place obtained by Valentin in the R6 in the last season is a good starting point for 2024. Now we have a winter of work ahead of us, to optimize our set-up in every detail and be ready for the first round at Phillip Island‘.
